SALT
WATER FISHING REPORT
October
12, 2009
 The past couple days the
Tarpon have slowed down
a little on the beach.
Today my client Gerry from
the UK hooked two BIG TARPON
in the 150 LB class. One
jumped off behind the boat
after just a few minutes,
and the other Gerry fought for
30 minutes before the fish
wore through the 80 # mono
leader. To say we were
sick in an understatement.
So close to a world class
Tarpon that was fought
to perfection on 30 LB
Class Tackle. Gerry also
caught 5 Black Tip Sharks
to 40 LBS.
After
spending three hours
two miles off the beach
the wind picked up to 15
MPH from the South and
the seas started building
to 3 ft. I ask Gerry if
he was interested in catching
Redfish and he said we
didn't have Redfish in
Florida and laughed. He
told me he had hired two
different Redfish Guides
from the Orlando Area the
past three weeks and has
not seen a Redfish. Well
it didn't take long to
prove to Gerry we do have
Redfish on the East Coast
of Florida. We fished for
Redfish for about 90 minutes
and Jerry caught 4 Redfish
up to 18 pounds and lost
two other that were much
bigger. All and all it
was a great day on the
water with a great client.
I have this Friday the
16th open, and the 19th,
20th, 21st, 22nd, 26th,
and 27th of Oct open.
